Today is Mother’s Day. We encourage all husbands to pray Psalm 103 in thanksgiving to God for His unmerited blessings, especially for your wife and the mother of your children. If you do not have children, husbands still pray this for your wife, honoring her as a great gift from God.
It is very simple, just insert your wife’s name in the designated places below and pray this to your wife. Thank God for His wonderful blessings!
Psalm 103
Bless the Lord, O [your spouse’s] soul;
and all that is within [your spouse], bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O [your spouse’s] soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all [your spouse’s] iniquity,
who heals all [your spouse’s] diseases,
who redeems [your spouse’s] life from the Pit,
who crowns [your spouse] with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies [your spouse] with good as long as [she] live[s]
so that [your spouse’s] youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The Lord works vindication
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger for ever.
He does not deal with [your spouse] according to [her] sins,
nor requite [your spouse] according to [her] iniquities.
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward [your spouse] who fear[s] him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove [your spouse’s] transgressions from [her].
As a father pities his children,
so the Lord pities those who fear him.
For he knows [your spouse’s] frame;
he remembers that [your spouse] [is] dust.
As for [your spouse], [her] days are like grass;
[she] flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
upon [your spouse] who fear[s] him,
and his righteousness to children’s children,
to [your spouse] who keep[s] his covenant
and remember[s] to do his commandments.
The Lord has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.
Bless the Lord, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word,
hearkening to the voice of his word!
Bless the Lord, all his hosts,
his ministers that do his will!
Bless the Lord, all his works,
in all places of his dominion.
Bless the Lord, O [your spouse’s] soul!
Happy Mother’s Day to all women!
