Marriage Preparation

Mentoring Ministry — establish and manage a mentoring program to prepare engaged couples for the sacrament of marriage. The recommended program is:

Pre-Marriage Assessments — conduct premarriage assessments and facilitate discussion with engaged couples. Trained in the following assessments:

Marriage Enrichment

Date Nights — design, publicize and facilitate monthly date nights open to all couples in the parish. Each night would provide opportunities to learn about God’s plan for marriage, foster friendships and grow in intimacy.

Retreats — plan, publicize and facilitate retreats to help couples grow in their understanding of marriage and how to live it well.

Marriage Assessments — conduct and facilitate marriage assessments for individual couples. CCC recommends using:

Couple-to-Couple Coaching — work with individual couples who are struggling in their marriage. CCC uses a process that helps couples understand God’s plan for marriage, forgive each other, and learn effective communication skills.

Marriage Ministry Team Formation

Recruit, qualify and form a team of Catholic couples to lead marriage ministry in the parish.
