Two Hearts_01

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and tomorrow, the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12, 2021). Devotion to both the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart is encouraged three times in the Fatima message.

First, in the spring of 1916, the Angel of Peace spoke these words to the three children of Fatima: “The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications.”

Again in the summer of 1916, the Angel says: “The Holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary have merciful designs for you.”

Finally, in the fall of 1916, the angel dictates a prayer to the children which in part says: “And I draw upon the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary that You might convert poor sinners.”

In addition, on several occasions, Jesus told Sister Lucia that He desired adoration of both hearts.

We encourage you to invite Jesus and Mary into your home. Many graces and blessings flow from devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. As you invite Jesus and Mary to come into your home and family, you will experience greater order, peace, security and love in your daily life.

There are many organizations that offer enthronement packets for dedicating your home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. One such organization can be found here. Enthronement is a wonderful way to remind your family of the merciful love of Jesus and Mary. The presence of Jesus and Mary in the home transforms the hearts of family members. The corporal and spiritual works of mercy become alive in their hearts. Their love, mercy, and compassion for each other and their neighbors increase. Homes and communities are transformed by the radiant love of Jesus and Mary shining through families as they service others.

Please join us in this prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Prayer to the Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary[1]

O Heart of Jesus pierced for our sins and giving us your Mother on Calvary! O Heart of Mary pierced by sorrow and sharing in the sufferings of your divine Son for our redemption! O sacred union of these Two Hearts! Praised be the God of Love who united them together!

May we unite our hearts and every heart so that all hearts may live in unity in imitation of that sacred unity which exists in these Two Hearts. Triumph, O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary! Reign, O Most Sacred Heart of Jesus! – in our hearts, in our homes and families, in the hearts of those who as yet do not know you, and in all nations of the world. Establish in the hearts of all mankind the sovereign triumph and reign of your Two Hearts so that the earth may resound from pole to pole with one cry: Blessed forever be the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary!

Obtain for me a greater purity of heart and a fervent love of the spiritual life. May all my actions be done for the greater glory of God in union with the divine heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Hear and answer our prayers and intentions (mention your petition) according to your most merciful will. Amen.
