“The final battle between the Lord and the reign of Satan will be about marriage and the family.” These prophetic words were shared in a letter from Sister Lúcia to Cardinal Carlo Caffarra of Bologna. Sister Maria Lúcia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart was a Portuguese Catholic nun and one of the three children to witness the 1917 Marian apparitions in Fátima.

In her letter to the Cardinal, she also said, “Don’t be afraid…because anyone who works for the sanctity of marriage and the family will always be fought and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue. However, Our Lady has already crushed its head.”

Clearly, God’s design for marriage and family is under attack. Satan is striking at the heart of the Christian life. We believe the only way to win this battle is to honor the requests the Blessed Mother made of the three children of Fatima.

Our Lady asked the children to do three things:

1. PENANCE – “Men must amend their lives, and ask pardon for their sins…They must no longer offend Our Lord, Who is already so much offended.”
2. PRAYER – “You must recite the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war for only she can obtain this.” In this Our Lady renewed her request for the prayer she gave to the Church centuries before, a prayer that has proven a powerful weapon against the enemies of Christianity.
3. DEVOTION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY – In 1916, a year before the apparitions of Our Lady, the Angel of Peace appeared to the children to prepare them for things to come. “The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have designs of mercy for you,” he said. “Offer unceasingly to the Most High prayer and sacrifices.” In the second apparition on June 13 of the following year, Our Lady told the children that “Jesus wishes to establish throughout the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.”

People have turned away from God and are in need of our prayers. Will you join us in the battle for the family by carrying out the requests of Our Lady to the children of Fatima? Will you fast and pray the rosary, asking Our Lady to intercede on behalf of marriage and families? Will you follow the request of Jesus to have a special devotion to the Immaculate Heart of His mother?

Act of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

O Most Holy Virgin Mother, we listen with grief to the complaints of your Immaculate Heart surrounded with the thorns placed therein at every moment by the blasphemies and ingratitude of ungrateful humanity. We are moved by the ardent desire of loving you as Our Mother and of promoting a true devotion to your Immaculate Heart.

We therefore kneel before you to manifest the sorrow we feel for the grievances that people cause you, and to atone by our prayers and sacrifices for the offenses with which they return your love. Obtain for them and for us the pardon of so many sins. Hasten the conversion of sinners that they may love Jesus and cease to offend the Lord, already so much offended. Turn your eyes of mercy toward us, that we may love God with all our heart on earth and enjoy Him forever in heaven. Amen.
