Is your marriage witnessing the love of Christ to the world? Do other couples ask how you exude such joy in the midst of the messiness of family life? If not, consider investing in your marriage. What is the balance in your marital piggy bank? Are you running a surplus or are you in deficit spending? An ongoing investment in your own personal healing and in building up your marriage, will yield a joyful and fruitful marital relationship.

We all bring baggage into our marital relationships from our family of origin. We are wounded people. If we have not received healing from these wounds, we operate out of these wounds when we interact with each other. Have you ever over-reacted to a situation in your marriage and later wondered why your response was so inappropriate for the situation? These over-reactions are a good indication that you are being triggered by unresolved emotional wounds from your past.

In order for a marriage to grow and thrive, we must first deal with our own emotional woundedness. Once couples receive healing individually, they are better equipped to handle the emotional stresses in their marriage and family. We want to share with you some opportunities to become the person God intends for you to be first as an individual, then together as a couple.

The events we are sharing are offered by the John Paul II Healing Center, founded by Dr. Bob Schuchts. We have attended several of their conferences and they have been transformative in our lives individually and in our marriage. We highly recommend their resources to couples. During the pandemic, these courses are for the first time being offered both onsite and online. This gives couples an unprecedented access to these events.

Men on Fire Men’s Conference
Lincoln, NE: October 17, 2020

Become a man “ON FIRE” for God. The Men on Fire Conference will help you live the life that God intends for you. At Pentecost, the power of the Holy Spirit propelled each of the apostles into the fullness of their destiny. St. Irenaeus once said, “the glory of God is man fully alive.” Step into your own personal Pentecost, know who you are in Christ, live into God’s purpose for your life and take back what belongs to you and God.

Other ways to invest in your marriage is to pray daily together as a couple, read Scripture together, and have a weekly date night. The more you invest in your relationship, the better you are able to be a witness of the love of Christ to your family, your friends, neighbors and the world!

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
