Build your love upon something more than just infatuation. Build it on something more transcendent, more spiritual, and more authentic.

Christ is that foundation. The love you have for Christ must be rooted in the heart of both husband and wife. This love must be present for your relationship to thrive. This kind of love is unchanging; it is not affected by the successes or trials of life. This love makes each relationship something beautiful, something joyful, something fruitful. It is a love bigger than both of you.

Pope Paul VI’s Gaudium et Spes talks about this kind of love. “Authentic married love is caught up into divine love and is governed and enriched by Christ’s redeeming power and the saving activity of the Church” (48).

Strive for this kind of love in your marriage. As a Lenten sacrifice, we suggest you seek to serve each other better and more fully from the heart. We guarantee that your love will grow exponentially as you seek ways to serve each other in self-giving love.

We are so blessed and thankful for all of you. Know that we are praying for you.
