On this Good Friday, take time to read and meditate on the Suffering Servant foretold in Isaiah 53. Jesus is the fulfillment of this prophecy. Do you know what God has done for you? Do you understand all that Jesus accomplished on the cross? Do you comprehend and believe that Jesus is the Christ?
And you, who were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, having canceled the bond which stood against us with its legal demands; this he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public example of them, triumphing over them in him. Colossians 2:13-15
Jesus has accomplished two things on the cross: 1) atonement for our sins and 2) triumph over Satan and the dominions of sin and death. In dying on the cross, Jesus makes a public spectacle of the evil one. Jesus has turned an apparent devastating defeat into a stunning victory. “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities…by his stripes we are healed” (Is 53:5).
Spend time today with your family meditating on all that Christ has done for you. Thank Him for His sacrifice, His love and His mercy. Share what Christ has done for you with others. The world needs Jesus. He is the answer to all our ills. He is our only hope.
I thirst for you. Yes, that is the only way to even begin to describe My love for you. I THIRST FOR YOU. I thirst to love you and to be loved by you – that is how precious you are to Me. I THIRST FOR YOU. Come to me, and I will fill your heart and heal your wounds. I will make you a new creation, and give you peace, even in all your trials. I THIRST FOR YOU. You must never doubt My mercy, My acceptance of you, My desire to forgive, My longing to bless you and live My life in you. I THIRST FOR YOU. [1]
